The Anti-Ragging and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of National Institute has been constituted
in accordance with the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the guidelines
issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Institute maintains a zero-tolerance
policy towards ragging, harassment, and any form of physical or mental abuse.
Ragging or harassment in any form, whether physical, mental, verbal, or electronic,
within or outside the campus, is strictly prohibited and will attract severe disciplinary action.
- Any act of indiscipline, teasing, or rude behavior.
- Any act that disrupts or interferes with academic activities.
- Any activity causing mental distress, fear, humiliation, or psychological harm.
- Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure.
- Any form of physical abuse, assault, or threat to health and safety.
- Any abusive act through spoken words, emails, messages, social media, or public insults.
- Any act violating the dignity and fundamental human rights of an individual.
- Any act of wrongful confinement, intimidation, molestation, or criminal force.
- Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy related to ragging or harassment.
Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging or harassment shall be liable
to one or more of the following punishments:
- Debarment from appearing in sessional tests or university examinations.
- Suspension from attending classes and academic activities.
- Withdrawal of institutional facilities and benefits.
- Suspension or expulsion from the Institute as per disciplinary rules.

Objectives of the Committee
- To prevent and monitor incidents of ragging and harassment within the campus and student gathering areas.
- To create awareness among students regarding anti-ragging laws and disciplinary consequences.
- To ensure a safe, inclusive, and fear-free learning environment.
- To encourage students to report incidents without fear of retaliation.
